About This Role

The Head Nurse in the PCU is responsible for directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients within the unit. This role is ideal for experienced nursing professionals looking to lead and enhance patient care practices.

What You'll Do
  • Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing regimens for patients.
  • Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate nursing regimens for assigned patients.
  • Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Interpret and report patient responses to appropriate health team members.
  • Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care programs.
  • Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
  • Participate in defining, implementing, and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
  • Conduct conferences to develop nursing care plans and promote staff development.
  • Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience as a Head Nurse preferred.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    Current New York State RN License required; BLS certification required.
Additional Compensation
  • Annual education differential for degrees in nursing or allied health disciplines.
  • Annual certification differential for nationally recognized certifications.
  • Annual nursing experience differential for up to 10 years of experience.
