Position SummaryAdministrator of anesthesia under the supervision of the attending anesthesiologist, including local, inhalation, intravenous and other anesthetics for surgery, deliveries or other medical procedures. Responsible for resuscitative procedures throughout the hospital, including the recovery room and available at all times while on duty.
Job Responsibilities- Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s core values and incorporates them into the performance duties.
- Attends in‑service training programs, conferences and departmental meetings to keep abreast of current knowledge in anesthesiology and improve patient care.
- Performs appropriate pre‑anesthesia assessment and post‑anesthesia evaluation and follow‑up of the patient.
- Performs invasive arterial/venous cannulations and monitors vital functions (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels and fluid volume).
- Performs life support functions during the period in which anesthesia is administered, including induction and intubation procedures.
- Administers general, regional and local anesthesia for patients undergoing surgical and obstetrical procedures on an elective or emergency basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Current NYS RN license required.
- CRNA certification or grna certificate qualifying to sit for the national boards.
- Advanced degree in nursing required.
- 4‑5 years of similar experience required.
- Must be comfortable working rotating shifts.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
