Overview

Leadership that inspires excellence. The Patient Care Director assumes first line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of patient care in the Neonatal ICU.

They facilitate efficient and cost effective daily operations of the unit in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. They promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, they participate in the establishment of unit short and long-term goals and ensure its alignment with the hospital's overall strategic goals.

They are accountable for monitoring staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate efficient and cost‑effective daily operations of the unit in relation to patient throughput, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to establish unit short and long‑term goals and ensure alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals.
  • Monitor staff compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.
Preferred Criteria
  • Five years of leadership experience in a NICU or within a large academic medical center.
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading unit development.
  • Experience with union environments.
  • National Certification.
Required Criteria
  • At least three years of Level IV NICU experience.
  • Four years of leadership experience.
  • BCLS and NRP.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • Current NYS RN licensure (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary

$170,000-$217,000 Annual
