Registered Nurse Float (RN)

Location: Suffolk County, NY (Patchogue, Babylon, Islip, Bethpage, Valley Stream, and Rockville Centre)

Hours / Days: 4/10 hour days, Mon-Thu 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (RDO Friday)

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician.
• Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol.
• Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness.
• Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations.
• Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medications.
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Educate patients and caregivers about follow‑up care and emergency services.

• Valid New York State RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred).
• Ability to work prolonged periods sitting at a desk, standing, bending, and reaching.
• Knowledge of standard precautions and ability to use appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling blood‑borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties.

  Starting at $52 per hour based on experience.
