Licensed Practical Nurse- Float; LPN

Job Summary

Licensed Practical Nurse – Float (LPN) – Bronx/Washington Heights, NY – Mon‑Fri, 8.5‑hour shifts between 7:30am and 6pm. Organization:
New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS).

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up‑to‑date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and diagnoses.
• Manage physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned through the electronic medical record.
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and maintain stock rooms.
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Provide patient education concerning medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets.
• Assist physician with exams and/or procedures.
• Prepare and administer injections.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens.
• Perform point‑of‑care lab testing.
• Perform EKGs.
• Administer and document medication under a physician’s order, following the five medication rights to reduce errors.
• Float throughout Staten Island and Brooklyn locations as required.

• Current NYS LPN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Spanish‑speaking preferred.
• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
• Reliable transportation to any NYCBS location for patient care needs.

• Salary:
  Starting at $39 per hour, based on experience.
