Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Location:

Washington Heights, NY

Hours/Days: 4 / 10 Hour Shifts; M-F (Between 7-7) Tues or Friday RDO

Organization:
New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up‑to‑date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies, and medical diagnoses
• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and request stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
• Assist physician with exams and/or procedures
• Prepare and administer injections
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
• Perform point of care lab testing
• Perform EKGs
• Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follow the five (5) medication rights to reduce the potential for medical error

• Current NYS LPN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
• Experience with EMR’s.
• Reliable transportation to any NYCBS site for patient care needs.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Salary:
Starting at $35.75 per hour based on experience
