Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Manager for Family Health Center
- Brooklyn
-7th Avenue and Sunset Terrace
. In this role, the successful candidate provides clinical leadership and management of a designated care area on a twenty-four‑hour basis, consistent with the philosophy, goals, and mission of NYU Langone Health. The candidate assumes responsibility and accountability for all facets of nursing practice and performance within the designated area(s) and for meeting all pertinent organizational goals and targets.

The role develops, fosters, and sustains an environment of excellence in patient/family service, staff growth and development, quality nursing care, and staff engagement and satisfaction.

  • Collects, analyzes, and utilizes data to drive practice changes that integrate quality, safety, patient experience, and productivity metrics to achieve excellence in patient and nursing outcomes.
  • Participates in and fosters staff involvement in nursing research and evidence‑based practice efforts.
  • Ensures staff compliance with maintaining licenses, certifications, and mandated learnings and content.
  • Develops positive and productive relationships across disciplines to establish strategic partnerships to achieve shared goals.
  • Fosters high reliability concepts within the unit/organizational structure.
  • Communicates with clarity and integrity to build trust with all stakeholders.
  • Fosters a culture of inquiry, innovation and transformation with a focus on the future.
  • Leads and supports developing of new insights to complex situations, innovative designs, and programs/processes.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities

The nurse manager will oversee the clinical staff (Nurses and medical assistants) at 2 different Family Health Centers in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The candidate will be expected to split up their days during the work week at the 2 locations, which are walking distance from each other. One FHC location has a predominantly Chinese immigrant patient population and sees over 28,000 visits annually.

The other FHC location has fewer medical providers with a predominantly Hispanic patient base; annually, this location sees approximately 10,000 visits annually.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licensure in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Master's degree in nursing required.
