Senior Certified Nurse Midwife - Academic Hospital

Whitecap Search Healthcare Partners is seeking a highly experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join a collaborative and academically grounded OB/GYN practice. This opportunity offers a senior‑level role with leadership potential, set in a supportive and stable environment renowned for its commitment to evidence‑based medicine and academic excellence.

• Senior‑level Certified Nurse Midwife with 5‑8 years of experience preferred
• Full‑scope midwifery practice in a physician‑midwife collaborative model
• Practice volume:
  Approximately 600‑650 deliveries annually
• When fully staffed: 12 MDs and 7 CNMs
• Majority clinical role with some leadership exposure (hiring, mentoring, and team development)
• Opportunity for future growth into Director or Manager of Midwifery as succession planning unfolds
• Weekly grand rounds inclusive of midwives
• Strong academic orientation; primary OB/GYN rotation site for CUNY
• EPIC EMR with well‑developed templates and workflows
• Video visits and Remote Patient Monitoring (glucose & BP)
• Dedicated Perinatal Safety Officer
• Ongoing clinical training via Relias
• New Emergency Department coming online
• Surgical robot expected (grant‑funded investment)
• Strong pipeline from Columbia CNM programs (academically exceptional graduates requiring mentorship)

• Clinic‑based role with delivery coverage based on midwife comfort level
• Weekdays only (generally 8:00‑6:00 or 9:00‑5:00)
• Typical schedule:
  
  4 clinic days / 1 delivery day
• Midwives have broad discretion on deliveries and triage
• No mandatory nights or weekend requirement noted

• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), active NY license
• 5‑8 years of midwifery experience strongly preferred
• Comfort with a broad, full‑scope clinical practice
• Interest in mentorship, leadership development, and team collaboration
• Academically inclined; values evidence‑based care and teaching culture
