Overview

Assistant Director Infection Prevention at a mission‑driven acute care leader. The role supports a high‑performing quality and safety program recognized for clinical excellence, low HAI rates, and patient‑first outcomes. The program integrates real‑time analytics dashboards, optimized EHR builds, AI‑assisted decision support, and strong antimicrobial stewardship collaboration with Infectious Disease, Pharmacy, Microbiology, and Nursing. The Organization promotes a Magnet‑style culture, modern facilities, and innovation‑forward leadership that pilots hospital‑at‑home, telehealth, and value‑based care, positioning the Assistant Director as a visible leader in evidence‑based practice, NHSN surveillance, Joint Commission readiness, and continuous improvement.

Location

Location: Southern New York State, within an hour of New York City.

Responsibilities
  • Lead NHSN reporting and analytics.
  • Develop CDC/APIC‑aligned policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and EMR‑driven surveillance automation.
  • Oversee patient safety improvement projects.
  • Manage construction ICRA and device procedure bundle reliability.
  • Conduct rounding, coaching, and competency‑based education for staff.
  • Coordinate outbreak response and outbreak management.
  • Partner closely with CMO, CNO, , Lab Services, Facilities, EVS, Perioperative leadership, and Quality/Patient Safety councils.
  • Ensure Joint Commission readiness and continuous improvement initiatives.
