ResponsibilitiesResponsible for providing obstetrical, gynecological, and continuing care to all appropriate patients in the Garnet Health System. The Midwife is a partner in an interdisciplinary team of care‑givers and administrative support staff to perform assigned duties while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of the Garnet Health System, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well‑being of our patients.
The Midwife will admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients from menarche to menopause with low‑risk pregnancy, contraceptive counseling and treatment, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, and preconception counseling.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $142,383 through $161,896 annually.
The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS:
Board Certified Midwife licensed to practice in the State of New York. Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to lead teams and possesses a desire to work as part of an inter‑department and interdisciplinary team. Excellent decision‑making abilities both collaboratively and independently. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to model skills to office staff. Clinical teaching experience preferred.
Minimum Education: Graduation from a recognized Midwifery Training Program. Master’s Degree preferred. Current NYS license in good standing in the area of Midwifery.
Minimum Experience: Two years of clinical experience, preferably in hospital and outpatient office settings.
Required Certification/Registration: NYS Midwife License, valid and unrestricted. BLS required. DEA Certification, valid and unrestricted. Neonatal Resuscitation, current and ongoing.
Physical RequirementsMust possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with the practice of internal medicine or family medicine.
Working Conditions- Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards:
Works in a clean, well‑lit, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. - Physical Demands:
Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs. - Mental Demands:
Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information and prioritise tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi‑task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
