- Promote and restore patients’ health by developing day-to-day management and long‑term planning of the patient care area.
- Hire, onboard, direct, mentor, develop, and schedule staff, including communicating job expectations and providing performance reviews.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to implement patient care.
- Provide physical and psychological support for patients.
- Meet nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards; resolving problems; and identifying system improvements.
- Provide input on annual budget, monitor expenditures, perform research on investments in equipment or additional staffing, and identify variances in departmental costs.
- Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons to understand service requirements.
- Maintain nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Complete patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff and following up on work results.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promote patients’ independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching and counseling patients, friends, and family to reinforce their understanding of disease, medications, and self‑care skills.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree;
Master’s degree preferred.
