Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year

A well-established geriatric care facility is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Nurse Educator / Risk Manager to join its leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for a nursing professional who is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting and be comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities across nursing operations, staff education, and risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily clinical and operational management of the nursing department
  • Provide leadership and support to nursing staff across all shifts
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver ongoing staff education and training programs
  • Conduct orientation and competency assessments for new nursing employees
  • Monitor compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and adverse events and implement corrective action plans
  • Oversee risk management processes and ensure proper documentation and follow-up
  • Assist with survey preparation and regulatory readiness
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes and quality of care
  • Support infection control, clinical audits, and policy implementation
Qualifications
  • Active RN license in New York State
  • Prior experience as an ADON, Nurse Educator, Clinical Educator, or nursing leadership role in a skilled nursing facility
  • Strong background in staff education, training, and competency development
  • Experience with risk management, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance
  • Thorough understanding of long-term care regulations and survey processes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff
