The Registered Nurse – Dialysis provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatments. This role involves monitoring patient responses, administering prescribed therapies, educating patients and families, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care during dialysis procedures
- Monitor patient responses including vital signs and treatment outcomes
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed by physicians
- Educate patients and families on dialysis care, treatment plans, and self-management strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nephrologists, dietitians, and dialysis technicians
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation ensuring compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards
- Respond to emergencies such as dialysis complications or rapid changes in patient condition
- Activ
e Registered Nurse license - Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 1–2 years nursing experience, preferably in dialysis or nephrology care
- Strong clinical judgment and patient care skills
- Experience in dialysis units (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis)
- Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN)
- Background in patient education and chronic disease management
