Location: New York
NYU Grossman School of Medicine (part of NYU Langone Health) is looking for a Research Nurse.
Position SummaryProvide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a diverse clinical research setting. Ensure protocol compliance and collaborate with the research team to manage all aspects of the protocol with minimum supervision.
Job Responsibilities- Provide direct care to research patients using the nursing process and protocol knowledge.
- Exercise critical nursing judgment to protect research integrity while ensuring patient safety.
- Document changes in patient status and respond to protocol changes; maintain effective communication and educate patients and families about the study.
- Assist in the informed consent process.
- Perform clinical procedures per protocol, including specimen collection, PK/PD studies, venous and central access, stimulation testing, blood products, fluid and medication delivery, conscious sedation, and bronchoscopy.
- Administer stock and research medication safely per hospital policy and protocol guidelines.
- Evaluate and implement care plans, set priorities, and collaborate with team members to meet patient and protocol needs.
- Support performance improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary education.
NYS RN license with current registration. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience, with plans to earn a baccalaureate degree if not already earned. Minimum three years of related RN experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications. Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to continuous learning and decision making.
Registered Nurse License – NYS.
Preferred QualificationsCertification in a relevant nursing practice area.
