Pediatric Nurse

The Pediatric Nurse is responsible for providing compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents in a private practice in Rockaway Queens, New York. This role involves assessing patients, administering medications, educating families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal health outcomes. The ideal candidate possesses excellent clinical skills, deep empathy for children and their families, and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments.

• Provide age-appropriate assessments and nursing care for pediatric patients.
• Monitor vital signs, growth and development, and document observations accurately.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians and other team members.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and follow up on referrals, consults, and additional lab work.
• Participate in care coordination and cross-trained with Medical Assistant duties, including completing medical forms (school and day care), performing in-office procedures (e.g., specimen collection, strep and flu tests, viral testing, urinalysis, finger-stick blood draws), and ensuring exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned and stocked after each patient.
• Ensure a safe and comforting environment for pediatric patients and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.

• Ability to quickly assess a patient s condition, anticipate potential complications, and respond appropriately.
• Proficiency in technology and EHR systems, patient messaging systems, Google Suite (Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail), etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with children of all ages, their families, and healthcare providers.

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. BSN preferred.
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with preferred experience in a pediatric setting.
