Assistant Director, Nursing

About This Role

The Assistant Director of Nursing oversees all areas of the hospital in the absence of leadership, ensuring high-quality patient and family-centered care. This role is ideal for experienced nursing professionals with strong leadership skills.

• Location: Manhasset, NY
• Schedule: Full-Time, Evening shift

• Oversee and manage operations and patient care activities in all areas of the facility in the absence of leadership.
• Provide leadership to supervisors and team members by communicating and guiding toward achieving facility objectives.
• Communicate, build consensus, and guide departments toward achieving hospital objectives.
• Promote and maintain high-quality patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Maintain a professional work environment that fosters team member respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal patient outcomes.
• Promote appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practice.
• Provide direction and guidance to patient care unit team members and supervisors in clinical and operational concerns in the absence of leadership.
• May provide input into performance reviews, hiring, promotions, and corrective actions.
• Serve as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational, and leadership).
• Monitor personnel, supply, and equipment considerations in the absence of leadership.

Education:

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing required, Master's preferred.

Experience:

• 6-10 years of nursing experience required.
• 5-7 years of leadership/management experience required.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
• Specialized certifications as needed.
