General Description
SUNY Niagara is seeking part‑time Practical Nursing Instructors to teach in the skills lab, including evaluation of skill performance. Remuneration for this position is $903 per lab hour. Paid orientation to teaching and responsibilities will be provided. Selected candidates may apply for a possible scholarship to earn a Master’s of Science in Nursing Education.
Typical Work ActivitiesTeaching nursing skills in the lab, assessing student proficiency, preparing instructional materials, communicating with students and faculty, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Essential Functions- Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population.
- Ability to speak in front of groups.
- Effective communication with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community.
- Develop, prepare, and present information.
- Operate computers.
- Physically perform the duties of the position.
- Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing.
- Recent (within 5 years) acute‑care experience.
- Master’s of Science degree with a major in Nursing.
- Maternity experience.
