Licensed Practical Nurse - Float (LPN) –
Location:
Brooklyn, NY –
Hours:
5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon‑Fri 7:30 am‑6 pm – Organization:
New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)
- Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up‑to‑date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies, and medical diagnoses
- Manage physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
- Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
- Assist physician with exams and/or procedures
- Prepare and administer injections
- Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
- Perform point‑of‑care lab testing
- Perform EKGs
- Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follow the five medication rights to reduce potential for medical error
- Must be willing and able to float throughout our Manhattan locations
- Current NYS LPN license required
- At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Spanish‑speaking preferred
- Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health‑care professionals
- Experience with EMRs
- Reliable transportation to any NYCBS location for patient‑care needs
- Salary:
Starting at $39 per hour - Benefits:
