Position Summary

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Pre‑Anesthetic Assessment: review laboratory data, patient history and physical. Establish rapport, anticipate needs, function independently, respect patient rights.
• Prepares for Case Management: assemble essential equipment, ensure safe anesthesia delivery, apply safety precautions, label and store syringes.
• Prepares Anesthetic Management: develop a systematic plan of care, recognize patient difficulties, communicate clearly with attending, apply current anesthetic principles.
• Manages Anesthetic: airway management, technical skill, emergency judgment, accurate recordkeeping, coordinate with health‑care providers.
• Post‑Anesthetic Management: verify patient identification, maintain airway, assess pain, complete records, dispose medications, care for equipment.

• CRNA certification within 18 months of hire.
• Master’s degree from a CRNA program.
• Active NYS RN license, CRNA certification.
• ACLS, PALS certification.
• NYS Infection Control Certificate.
