Position Summary
The Registered Nurse assumes a leadership role in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include triaging patients to the appropriate level in a timely manner, providing nursing care to patients of all ages, directing general patient flow through the department, and following up on laboratory and X‑ray results. The nurse documents care accurately and in accordance with policy, and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

- Assess the health status of individuals and detect changes to take necessary actions.
- Document all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner, including pain assessments, medication administration, and patient ED course.
- Triage patients and assign accurate acuity based on standards of care and department policy.
- Assume responsibility for direct patient care and prepare patients for examinations.
- Safely and effectively administer medications, tests, and treatments as ordered.
- Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with department policy.
- Assist proactively with patient discharge, hospital transfers, and arranging outpatient testing.
- Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician, teaching patients and caregivers to manage illnesses, injuries, and home‑care needs.
- Recognize unique safety needs of elderly and pediatric patients, ensuring they receive necessary assistance.
- Follow established departmental policies and procedures for environmental safety and infection control.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
- MA RN license required.
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications required.
- Minimum of one year RN critical‑care experience or three years in Med/Surg or Emergency.
- 36 hours per week, 7 pm – 7 am shift pattern.

Starting at $50.00 per hour, and up to $70.00 based on experience.
