About This Role

The Assistant Head Nurse in Ambulatory Care OBGYN provides professional nursing care to patients within the gynecology unit, serving as a team leader and assisting the Head Nurse in guiding nursing personnel.

• Provide professional nursing care to patients/clients within the assigned unit.
• Diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems.
• Serve as a team leader and assist the Head Nurse in guiding nursing personnel.
• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in rendering patient care.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.

• Experience as an Assistant Head Nurse preferred.

• Valid New York State RN License required.
