Duties and Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse I will coordinate, direct and provide professional nursing care to residents of the nursing home under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Administrator.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Licensed and registered as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
- Maintaining a current and valid license and/or registration is a condition of employment.
- Must not be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any federal or state Medicaid/Medicare exclusion list.
- Reassignment:
Current New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at Montrose employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18. - Transfer:
Current New York State employee with one or more years in a permanent, contingent‑permanent, or 55 b/c service position eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, to a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18. - Preferred:
Experience in a long‑term care setting with a geriatric population.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary reflects the contractual salary range at step 4 and a geographic pay differential of $35,000 and a downstate adjustment of $4,000 for New York City, Westchester, and Suffolk counties. It also includes shift differentials for evening and night shifts and $575.00 inconvenience pay.
