About This Role

The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for providing safe, competent quality care to a designated group of patients, utilizing nursing theory and research.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver patient care using the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care.
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs with critical thinking skills.
  • Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team on care plans.
  • Prioritize patient care aspects including teaching and planning after hospital care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about their care plans and health promotion.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
  • Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing.
  • Role model the tenets of Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care.
  • Initiate service recovery for patients and families with concerns.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required;
    Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable if matriculated in a BSN program.

Experience:

  • Relevant clinical competence in assigned nursing practice area; new graduates must have current nursing process knowledge.

Licenses &

Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • NRP certification (Labor and Delivery, NICU)
  • ACLS certification (various departments)
  • PALS certification (various departments)
