About This Role

The PEDS PACU RN is responsible for providing age-specific care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in collaboration and leadership within a dynamic healthcare environment.

• Location: New Suffolk, NY
• Facility: Northwell Health
• Schedule: Full-Time

• Assess the patient’s physiologic health status.
• Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures.
• Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
• Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition.
• Communicate and document patient’s physiologic health status and plan of care.
• Assess patient’s psychosocial health status.
• Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes.
• Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities.
• Implement the plan of care while maintaining patient safety.
• Evaluate care provided for patient outcomes.

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.

  Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. BLS certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
