About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Surgery Center at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is responsible for delivering patient care with a focus on the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for a compassionate nurse with a minimum of one year of operating room experience.

• Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift

• Collect, assess, and document patient healthcare data.
• Direct the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to identify a realistic and measurable plan of care.
• Educate the patient/family regarding health status and established plan of care.
• Evaluate the patient's progress towards expected outcomes.
• Coordinate and direct unit activities to provide patient care.
• Analyze achievement of unit throughput efficiencies and metrics.
• Comply with professional standards and regulations.
• Organize staff assignments for appropriate delegation of activities.
• Serve as a support, resource, and preceptor for nursing staff and students.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts to achieve organizational goals.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution required for employees hired after 9/1/2020.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience required.
