Nurse, Emergency Medicine

Overview

We are hiring nurses to join Carnival's fleet of North American brands, including Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, and Seabourn.

• Provide individualized care to guests and crew in outpatient, inpatient, and intensive care settings.
• Act as a first responder, triaging emergency calls, assessing and treating patients on-site, and transferring them to the shipboard medical center for definitive care.
• Practice autonomously under the authority of doctors through specific patient group directives, assessing patients and providing treatment and advice for particular conditions.
• Collaborate with other medical practitioners in caring for patients and attending daily walk-in clinics.
• Perform technical and non-clinical administrative tasks to support the medical center’s safe and efficient operation under supervision of the Senior Nurse.
• Conduct equipment checks, manage medication and clinical consumable inventories, and participate in drills, audits, and inspections.
• Train other crew members in relevant procedures and skills.
• Develop and apply technical skills onboard, including X-ray acquisition and performing a wide range of laboratory tests and other procedures.
• Maintain a high level of customer service with a professional, dignified, friendly, assertive, and polite demeanor toward guests and fellow crew members, aligning with the organization’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.

Successful candidates will be assigned to four-month contracts onboard our fleet of cruise ships operating worldwide, with two-month intermissions.
