Bethany Gardens is actively looking for LPNs to join our nursing team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and support to patients.
The LPN will also assist in maintaining high standards of patient safety, privacy, care and cleanliness. Previous experience in a medical setting and/or as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required for this position.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Including but not limited to)- Set up a safe environment for patients.
- Administering medications and injections to residents as needed
- Treating and dressing wounds and bedsores as needed
- Provide effective nursing care to patients.
- Supervise and instruct unit certified nursing assistants (CNAs)
- Assist and support unit certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in completion of task as needed
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Report changes in patient's conditions to physician or registered nurse.
- Discharge patients and assist in transportation if needed.
- Record observations and vital signs.
- Inform physicians and families of a patient’s progress and of any problems that require attention.
- Arrange for special services (i.e. meals) for the patient if necessary.
- Report off to oncoming nurse.
- Count off with oncoming nurse.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.
- Must have a valid LPN license in NYS
- Must be available on weekends and holidays
- Must have the ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
EXPERIENCE:
- LPN experience preferred
- Experience with geriatric population preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Evidence of effective problem resolution skills.
- Demonstrates ability to establish and manage priorities.
- Resourceful, organized, and efficient.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
