Job Description:

Requirements:

• Current New York State RN license and registration
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience
• Experience supervising or mentoring Graduate Nurses, LPNs, and direct care staff preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for incarcerated adults.
• Conduct health assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Implement treatments and participate in case-finding activities.
• Engage in health teaching and work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain professional boundaries and provide hands-on care only when medically appropriate.
• Work independently in a correctional primary care/urgent care/ER-type environment.

Compliance / Notes:

• State criminal history background check required before start.
• Required documents at time of submittal: SSN, DOB, RTO (must be presented at time of submittal).
• Returning staff rule: must have been away from any NY State facility for 2 years to return.
• Accepts first-time travelers and local travelers at the same rate.
