Family Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care

Schedule:

Full-Time Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, no on-call, no nights, no weekends, no holidays

Compensation: $130,000 to $150,000 base salary, dependent upon experience, negotiable sign-on bonus, malpractice insurance, medical/dental/vision insurance, CME allowance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401k w/ 4% match, full details negotiable

This organization is the largest physician-led outpatient medical practice in the greater New York City metro area with more than 35 offices serving 500,000 patients per year. In addition to robust primary care offerings, they also operate specialty service lines in gastroenterology, pediatrics, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, podiatry, behavioral health, and more. Their staff of more than 400 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members, with resources such as on-site laboratory and radiology services.

Position

Description

This is an outpatient position in which the nurse practitioner provides medical services in collaboration with primary care physicians including, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Obtain and document patient histories
  • Conduct physical exams and evaluate patients
  • Diagnose and treat diseases
  • Manage chronic illnesses
  • Prescribe medication
  • Order laboratory, radiological, and special examinations or tests
  • Interpret examination and test results
  • Provide preventative health services, including education and counseling
  • Collaborate with other clinicians and staff to ensure continuity of care for patients
  • Attend staff educational programs and meetings

A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon types of appointments scheduled and patient needs. All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants. The practice uses the Epic EHR.

Requirements

New York NP license, DEA, experience working with diverse populations in an ambulatory setting, 1+ year experience preferred
