Description:
The average daily census for the unit is 21 patients. There are 23 beds available. Staffing ratios are 1 nurse to 10 patients for all shifts. Floating between units is required. Weekend coverage is every other weekend. This unit does not accept first-time travelers. Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty. Local candidates are not accepted if they reside within 75 miles of the facility.
Charting system experience is required. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates will be responsible for various patient care duties, including comprehensive assessments and medication administration. Skills required include infection control, wound care, and oxygen administration. Further skills include effective communication with patients and families regarding care plans.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage complex patient needs effectively. Compliance with all safety and procedural protocols is mandatory. Candidates may float to other areas as required by the facility staffing needs. All candidates must successfully pass a background check. Additional specific skills and procedures may be necessary based on patient care requirements.
