Job Description

MUSC Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our dedicated Electrophysiology Department.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) serving as the Electrophysiology (EP) Department Coordinator at MUSC Heart & Vascular – Columbia Medical Center Downtown plays a key leadership and clinical integration role within the EP service line. This position supports the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered electrophysiology care by coordinating daily operations, optimizing patient throughput, and serving as a clinical liaison between physicians, nursing, procedural areas, and administrative leadership.

The APP Department Coordinator provides advanced clinical assessment and management for EP patients across the ambulatory and procedural continuum, including evaluation, treatment planning, patient education, and post‑procedure follow‑up. The role ensures alignment of clinical workflows, referral pathways, and patient access strategies to support growth of the EP program and enhance the overall patient experience.

In addition to direct patient care, the APP partners with the EP physicians and operational leadership to monitor clinical performance metrics, support quality and safety initiatives, streamline scheduling and resource utilization, and assist with developing standardized protocols and care pathways. The coordinator will also serve as a point‑of‑contact for interdisciplinary teams, helps manage complex patient navigation issues, and contributes to education for staff, patients, and referring providers.

This position requires a high level of autonomy, organization, clinical expertise in electrophysiology, and the ability to lead collaboratively within a rapidly growing cardiovascular service line. MUSC Health Heart and Vascular Columbia Medical Center Division strives to be a leader of innovative therapies for patients with acute and chronic cardiac disease and to be the provider of choice for cardiac care in the Midlands.

It has received the Society of Thoracic Surgeons “highest rated Award” of 3 stars, 20 times in a row. It is also accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and is a Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina Distinction Center for Cardiac Care.
