Associate Director, Nursing- Behavioral Health

About This Role

The Associate Director of Nursing for Behavioral Health at Harlem Hospital Center is a management position responsible for supervising nursing operations and ensuring quality patient care. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders who are adept at administrative responsibilities and clinical oversight.

• Pay: $155,000 - $160,000/year
• Location: New York, NY
• Facility: Harlem Hospital Center
• Department/Unit: INPATIENT BEHAVIOR HEALTH 10F
• Schedule: Full-Time, Day (7:00 A.M – 3:30 P.M)

• Coordinate all patient care and operational activities in respective departments.
• Provide managerial and clinical links between the nurse manager and department direction.
• Assist in assigning admission and internal/external transfers.
• Monitor employee performance relative to patient care and nursing practice.
• Facilitate staff participation in professional development activities.
• Develop and implement a staffing plan based on patient acuity and census.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve patient care and employee performance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Respond to patient and family inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain a safe work environment for patient care.

• Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, or equivalent field preferred
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required

• Minimum of six years of satisfactory nursing experience, with four years in a supervisory, teaching, or administrative capacity preferred
• Seven years of satisfactory nursing experience with five years in a supervisory or teaching capacity required

• Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
