The Staff Nurse in the Oncology Outpatient department provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods and techniques.

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen to allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in patient care.
• Participate in defining, implementing, maintaining, and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences regarding nursing practice.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education and other learning experiences.

• Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in Oncology Outpatient Center / Infusion Services or Outpatient Hematology & Solid Tumor Clinic, Medical Oncology Practice, Radiation Oncology.
• Current certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.

• Annual education differential based on degree:
  Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
• Annual education differential based on degree:
  Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
• Annual education differential based on degree:
  Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
• Annual education differential based on degree:
  Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
• Annual education differential based on degree:
  Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for appropriate nationally recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
