About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the NICU Level 4 provides specialized care for critically ill newborns, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Location: Queens, NY
• Facility: Northwell Health
• Schedule: Per Diem/Contracts

• Assess the patient s physiologic health status.
• Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures.
• Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
• Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition.
• Assess level of pain and pain management.
• Communicate and document patient s physiologic health status and plan of care.
• Assess patient s psychosocial health status.
• Elicit perception of medical/nursing care and expectations.
• Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes.
• Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities necessary to achieve expected outcomes.

Education:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
• BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
