Piper Companies is seeking an Episodic Care Manager to join a nationally recognized health insurance organization. This is a fully remote, 6‑month contract role with strong potential for extension or permanent hire. In this position, you will support members with short‑term behavioral health or medical needs, ensuring coordinated care across all treatment settings. The team’s focus includes psychiatric and higher‑acuity populations, with particular emphasis on adolescent behavioral health and eating disorder support

- Manage short‑term member cases by creating care plans tailored to behavioral, medical, and social complexities.
- Collaborate with inpatient facilities, outpatient providers, and community resources to ensure smooth and timely transitions of care.
- Evaluate clinical information to determine appropriate levels of care using tools such as MCG or Inter Qual
. - Provide members and caregivers with clear guidance on care plans, recovery expectations, and available resources.
- Document case progress, interventions, and outcomes in electronic systems while identifying potential barriers to stabilization.
- Active clinical license such as LPN, RN, LCSW, LPC, LCPC
, or equivalent (compact license accepted for RNs). - Experience working with psychiatric populations, particularly in adolescent care or eating disorder treatment.
- Background in inpatient care, utilization management, or residential treatment settings.
- Strong ability to interpret clinical documentation and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with utilization review tools like MCG or Inter Qual (social workers with UR experience using NCG or internal guidelines are also encouraged).
- Salary: $65,000–$78,000 annually (USD)
