Registered Nurse (RN) - Bilingual Spanish/English

Location:

Washington Heights, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hr shifts, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm

Organization:
New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician
• Recognize and treat cancer‑related and treatment‑related issues
• Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge
• Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol
• Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness
• Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations
• Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication
• Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency services

• Valid New York State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
• Must be bilingual in Spanish/English

• Salary:
  Starting at $52 per hour
