The Staff Nurse in the Recovery Room provides professional nursing care to patients under supervision, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods. This role is ideal for nurses who are dedicated to patient care and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen to allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in patient care.
• Participate in defining, implementing, and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences regarding nursing practice policies.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education and learning experiences.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
