• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations, obtain informed consent, and develop anesthesia care plans
• Select and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, and fluids
• Manage and safety-check anesthesia equipment
• Administer anesthesia and sedation and manage airways during procedures
• Monitor patient condition, maintain time-based records, and adjust care to maintain stability
• Manage patient emergence and recovery, provide follow-up care, and discharge patients from the post-anesthesia unit
• Implement pain management strategies, including regional anesthesia and interventional procedures
• Stabilize patients during emergencies with airway, cardiovascular, and respiratory support
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with standards
• Participate in quality initiatives and collaborate with healthcare teams
• Provide anesthesia and pain care autonomously and with the healthcare team across surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management procedures
- Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor
- Current appropriate state licensure and compliance with applicable CRNA statutory and regulatory requirements
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
- Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for required limits
- 8–12 years of related experience or equivalent education and experience
- 5 years of CRNA experience preferred
- Competent as a CRNA in a clinical setting
- Proficient in operating anesthesia equipment and providing perioperative or operating room support
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Skilled in age- and population-appropriate patient care
- Understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow facility policies and procedures
- Ability to lift objects over 50 pounds
- May require 10–15% travel, including occasional overnight travel
Demonstrates expertise in conducting pre-anesthesia evaluations, developing anesthesia care plans, and managing anesthesia equipment. Proficient in patient monitoring, pain management strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety standards in diverse clinical settings.
