Registered Nurse (RN) – Employee Health
Seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Registered Nurse with outpatient or acute care experience to join collaborative ambulatory care team. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional assessment and triage skills, provides evidence-based patient care and education, and collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary providers in a fast-paced outpatient environment while maintaining a strong commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Will work between 2 different hospitals/facilities - comfortable floating
- Experience in vaccine administration, EMR experience, excellent customer service skills,
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal manager oversite.
Position Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a busy ambulatory clinic setting. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal clinical outcomes. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and obtain patient health histories.
- Triage patient phone calls and walk-in concerns, prioritizing care based on clinical urgency.
- Administer medications, injections, infusions, immunizations, and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established protocols.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations, diagnostic testing, and outpatient procedures.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after treatments or procedures, identifying and responding appropriately to changes in condition.
- Provide individualized patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, disease management, and preventive health.
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, diagnostic testing, and continuity of care across multiple specialties.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in an employee health, outpatient, ambulatory or acute care setting preferred.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required - American Heart Association
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical record systems preferred.
** Must be able to complete entire credentialing and onboarding process before orientation/starting the position/contract assignment
