About This Role
The Staff RN I at the Heart Institute Greenpoint Cardiology is responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients through assessment, diagnosis, planning, and intervention in health problems. This role is ideal for nurses who are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a collaborative environment.

Full-Time, Day shift (Monday-Friday, 7am-5:30pm)
- Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records.
- Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans.
- Plan discharges consistent with patient status and inter-departmental communication.
- Communicate information to patients based on their awareness and readiness to learn.
- Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor.
- Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers.
- Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit.
- Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership.
- Participate in the development of other staff members.
- Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or active matriculation in a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Program preferred.
Experience:
- Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials.
Licenses &
Certifications:
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (Required for L&D, NICU).
- ACLS (Required for ED, PACU/ASU, ICUs, Telemetry Units, etc.).
- BCLS certification required.
- PALS (Required for ED, PACU, IR, Peds ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology).
