Amsterdam Nursing Home, a respected long-term care and rehab facility in Manhattan, seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to support clinical leadership and resident-centered care. In this role, you will help oversee daily nursing operations, supervise and mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold high standards for safety, quality, and documentation. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to dignity, respect, and personalized care, while contributing to staff education, quality improvement initiatives, and a culture of compassion, cultural sensitivity, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Support Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations on assigned units
- Supervise, coach, and schedule nursing staff to ensure safe staffing levels and high-quality care
- Monitor resident assessments, care plans, and documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate resident-centered care and discharge planning
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality improvement protocols
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of nursing and care staff
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care teams to address concerns and care goals
- Assist with audits, survey preparation, and implementation of corrective action plans
