Role Description

This part-time/full time on-site role in New York, NY is open to Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse Midwives, or Physician Assistants with Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience. The clinician will provide direct patient care for individuals receiving preconception, prenatal, and intrapartum services, including assessment, diagnosis, and management within the scope of practice. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, collaborating with obstetric and nursing teams, and supporting patients through labor and birth.

The role also involves patient education on pregnancy, birth plans, postpartum expectations, and evidence-based options for care. Documentation of clinical encounters, adherence to quality and safety standards, and participation in interdisciplinary communication are essential components of this position.

Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant, with active certification and in good standing in New York State.
  • Demonstrated Labor & Delivery experience, including management of low- and moderate-risk pregnancies, intrapartum care, and postpartum assessment.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, including proficiency in taking detailed histories, performing focused physical exams, and interpreting obstetric-related diagnostics.
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed, patient-centered care, with excellent communication skills for counseling, education, and shared decision-making.
  • Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff, and comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications (or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe).
  • Prior experience in women’s health, obstetrics, or midwifery settings; familiarity with diverse patient populations and inclusive, non-discriminatory care practices.
