Shift: Days – 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts;
Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
Contract: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Registered Professional Nurse provides safe, competent, and high-quality patient care based on nursing theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational standards. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs and apply critical-thinking skills to manage care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Prioritize patient care, including education, rounding, discharge planning, and delegation.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, transitions of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Maintain effective and professional communication with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships while demonstrating compassion, empathy, respect, and active listening.
  • Perform purposeful hourly rounding and support a positive patient experience.
  • Identify and escalate patient safety concerns, clinical risks, and barriers to quality care.
  • Accurately document nursing care in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Facilitate patient throughput and effectively manage staffing, supplies, equipment, and other resources.
  • Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain professional development and advance clinical competency.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Active New York State RN License
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification – Required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry/Med-Surg experience
  • Telemetry experience required
  • Ventilator experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience for travel positions
  • EPIC experience highly preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and patient-management skills
Education
  • BSN preferred
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) may be considered with relevant experience and/or active enrollment in a BSN program.
Schedule Requirements
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
  • 3×12-hour shifts

Note: BSN is preferred; ADN/ASN candidates may be considered if they meet the relevant experience and/or BSN matriculation requirements.
