Far Rockaway Center, a skilled nursing and rehab facility in the Centers Health Care network, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate, hands-on care to adult and senior residents. CNAs will assist with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility support; measure and record vital signs; report changes in condition to nurses; and help maintain a clean, safe environment.
The CNA will support restorative and rehab activities, offer emotional support to residents and families, and collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and other staff to ensure resident-centered, culturally sensitive care and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
- Assist residents with safe ambulation, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics
- Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Support restorative and rehabilitation activities as directed by nursing and therapy teams
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized resident rooms and common areas
- Offer emotional support and communicate respectfully with residents and families
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner per facility protocols
- Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA policies at all times
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other team members to deliver resident-centered care
- Participate in in-service training and ongoing education to maintain competency
