Carthage Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support clinical leadership in our skilled nursing and rehab facility in Carthage, NY. This role assists the DON in managing day-to-day nursing operations, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care for short-term rehab and long-term residents. Responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, supporting care planning and clinical programs, monitoring quality and regulatory compliance, mentoring team members, and promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and continuous improvement.
The ADON also collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams and supports staff education and performance improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations
- Supervise, schedule, and support nursing staff across shifts
- Oversee resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation
- Monitor quality of care and ensure regulatory and policy compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on resident outcomes
- Support staff education, training, and performance improvement
- Participate in audits, incident reviews, and corrective action plans
- Promote a resident-centered culture of dignity and respect
- Assist with staffing, hiring, and onboarding of nursing personnel
- Support implementation of clinical programs and best practices
