Associate Director, Nursing - Emergency Department

About This Role

The Associate Director of Nursing for the Emergency Department will oversee nursing services and health programs, ensuring optimal patient care and compliance with regulations. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders looking to make a significant impact in a community hospital setting.

• Pay: $155,000 - $175,000/year
• Location: Bronx, NY
• Facility: NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx
• Department/Unit: Nursing Administration
• Schedule: Full-Time, Rotating

• Oversee the implementation and evaluation of care delivery models for multiple units.
• Assume responsibility for day-to-day operations of nursing service.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and medical staff to develop nursing policies and standards.
• Develop and implement a staffing plan and direct selection of nursing personnel.
• Ensure efficiency and compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
• Supervise assistant directors of nursing and evaluate personnel performance.
• Analyze data regarding patient experience and staff engagement for improvement.
• Support nursing governance and promote Magnet principles.
• Oversee workforce planning and facilitate professional development of nursing staff.
• Participate in research projects and maintain accurate records related to nursing operations.

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related discipline required, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with additional experience.

Experience:

• 3+ years of nursing experience with 2+ years in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Valid New York State RN License required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on assignment.
