About This Role

The Staff Nurse in the Emergency Service for Pediatrics provides professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods and techniques.

• Pay: $112,775/year
• Location: Queens, NY
• Facility: Queens Hospital Center
• Department/Unit: EMERGENCY ROOM SERVICE PEDS
• Schedule: Full-Time, Night (7:00 P.M – 7:30
  
  A.M)

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients to appropriate health team members.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen for allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
• Participate in defining, implementing, and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences on nursing policies.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education and learning experiences.

Experience:

• Nursing experience as a Staff Nurse preferred.

• Annual education differential based on degree:
  • Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
  • Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
  • Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for appropriate nationally recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
