Registered Nurse; RN; Surgery Center

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgery Center is responsible for delivering and ensuring patient care through assessment, diagnosis, and the development of care plans. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in collaboration and patient education.

• Location: New York, NY
• Schedule: Full-Time, Evening shift

• Develop and evaluate the plan of care.
• Systematically assess patient's knowledge base and health through interviews and examinations.
• Consult with the multidisciplinary health care team regarding nursing assessment findings.
• Create individualized plans of care based on patient problems and anticipated length of stay.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care team members.
• Collaborate with team members to adjust the plan of care as necessary.
• Provide and delegate patient care according to established protocols.
• Conduct clinical rounds and administer medications.
• Perform and assist with procedures and treatments on the unit.
• Document patient care and responses on appropriate forms.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing;
  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment and obtain a BSN within five years if hired after September 1, 2010.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BCLS, ACLS, or PALS required.
