Job DescriptionSun River Health provides comprehensive primary, preventative, and behavioral health services to all patients, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. We seek a Full‑Time Nurse Practitioner in Pain Management to support the Bronx Blvd. site.
A Nurse Practitioner under the direction of a physician plans, evaluates, and delivers patient care, emphasizes preventive health measures and patient education, performs other duties as assigned and complies with system and job‑specific standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Takes patient histories, performs physical examinations, provides immunizations as necessary, and conducts patient education and counseling.
- Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood if needed, and performs selected lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
- Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, consults with physicians regarding medication, chronic illnesses, and referrals when appropriate.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically, including follow‑up on abnormal pap smears and reportable STDs.
- Attends continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge.
- Participates in provider meetings, quality improvement programs, and team assignments.
- Identifies and categorizes age‑specific patient needs (infants, adolescents, geriatric).
- Follows OSHA infection‑control standards under CDC guidelines.
- Provides safe and high‑quality performance, meeting productivity, quality, and patient satisfaction standards.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Pain Management.
- 3+ years as a Nurse Practitioner in Pain Management.
- Valid New York State Nurse Practitioner license and CPR/BLS certification.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures necessary for practice in health‑care centers.
- Competence in delivering health care, including preventive health education.
- Ability to collaborate with other health‑center staff to maintain high‑quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
- Master’s degree in a health or related field.
