What You’ll Do as CNA with Elderwood:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living based on individual needs and plans of care
- Support bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, mobility, positioning, and other personal-care needs
- Respond promptly and respectfully to resident requests
- Observe residents closely and report changes in condition, behavior, comfort, appetite, mobility, or daily functioning to the nurse
- Support rehabilitation and mobility goals as directed by the care team
- Help maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and respectful resident environment
- Communicate clearly with nurses, rehabilitation professionals, residents, families, and fellow CNAs
- Follow infection-prevention, safety, documentation, and resident-rights requirements
- Contribute to a team culture built on mutual respect, reliability, communication, and accountability
What You’ll Need as a CNA with Elderwood:
- Current registration on the New York State Nurse Aide Registry, with no findings or convictions involving resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect, or misappropriation of property
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Employment certificate or permit if 17 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous training or work experience in a geriatric setting preferred
- A caring, patient, and respectful approach to residents
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow established plans of care and clinical direction
- Physical stamina for an active, hands-on resident-care position
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at the level necessary for safe care and effective workplace communication
